First Day of Snow

So, today I'm getting ready for school, wrote a paper, took a shower, did my hair and make up and I'm getting ready to change out of my sweats and get dressed to leave for school, when I check the weather report and it says "Rain/Snow Showers." I quickly run to my bedroom window, look out, and all I see is a large blanket of white. My jaw dropped and I got so excited. I slipped so many times today it would be impossible to count on both my hands and feet and I fell about a million more times.

Classes were actually not too bad day. My psych teacher wasn't there so we watched a video and got out 30 minutes early. But! On my way to psych, Katelyn (one of my room mates) and I walked through the gardens, we took a few pictures, and the first snowball fight broke out. We had fun in an empty field of white, that's for sure! Once I got to psych I overheard some kids talking about how it's illegal to throw snowballs in Rexburg, whoopsie! Don't worry, EVERYONE was doing it ;)

After my classes, I'm walking home and on the grass just outside the door (parallel to it) I see two large snowman that Katelyn and Allison built while I was in class, BOO! I tried to get Katelyn to build one with me because Allison and Irene both weren't home. FAIL. I tried to get Katelyn to help me prepare snowballs to surprise attack Allison when she got home. FAIL. I tried to get Katelyn to just go outside and play in the snow. FAIL.

When Allison got home, we played in the snow, took some pictures, slide on the grass, had a snowball fight, Katelyn surprise attacked me to the ground and then the three of us broke out in a snowball fight. I then dared Katelyn to lick a pole, she did. We played in the snow some more, slide down more hills, and chucked snowballs at our neighbors window. We had fun. We then went inside to get ready for FHE.

At FHE we played a game called Mafia. We had a lot of fun and had some yummy desserts! As we left for home, some of us broke out in a snowball fight, don't worry, it was only a mini one. I tried to get people to build a snowman with me. FAIL. Then, we get a knock on the door and one of our FHE brothers, Matt, called me outside and we started building a snowman, I was so excited, but it was quickly interrupted when some of my room mates and FHE sisters showed up and we broke out in yet another snowball fight. Our FHE sisters left and my room mates gave up. So we instead took the battle to our FHE sisters apartment. They wouldn't come outside so we nailed em through the window. It was awesome! Matt tried to get into their apartment and instead broke a card, good job. While we were sabotaging them, there were boys building a massive snowman in front of their FHE sisters apartment door, they put a scary face on the snowman facing the girls when they would open the door (and yes, there door was up on a platform so after rolling big balls of snow, they then had to move it onto the platform, it was really heavy.) When they completed the snowman, they knocked on the girls door and ran. The girls freaked, it was hilarious.

Matt and I at the point gave up on trying to get our FHE sisters to come outside so we left a surprise at one of the girls cars, we had fun. We then headed back to my apartment where we got Irene outside in the snow and we broke out in yet ANOTHER snowball fight lasting some time actually. We had a really good time.

Besides all of the fun in the snow, I managed to finish all of my homework for the entire week and I am now left with nothing to do, way fun! So cleaning and reading and writing sound like my best options here, score! Maybe even learning to drive in the snow? :)

Alrighty, well I think I'm done here. To everyone in California, enjoy your nice warm sunshine and I'll enjoy my nice cold blanket of white with some yummy hot chocolate!

XOXO

  1. It will be interesting to see if you still love the snow this much when it is still coming down in late MAY!

I am not sure what to think about a female driver, from California, who is now technically an Idahoan driving at all let alone in the SNOW!

  2. Haha thanks Bro! Thank goodness for your lesson in Utah! lol Don't worry, my room mate, from Alaska, taught me how, it's been successful thus far! I'll be sure to keep you updated.

And yess, I am STILL loving the snow.
